Christian County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for the position of Transport Deputy. We are looking for community-oriented individuals that are motivated, professional, and courteous. The Transportation Deputy is primarily responsible for providing the safety, security, supervision and care of all inmates in custody of the detention facility. Officers will monitor the activity of all visitors and employees on the premises to ensure the safety and welfare of everyone is adequately maintained.
- High School Diploma Required
- Required to possess a Basic Law Enforcement Certification from an accredited law enforcement academy in the State of Missouri, or the ability to satisfy the State of Missouri Peace Officer Standards to obtain the certification. Must retain the certification throughout the tenure of employment, or employment will be terminated.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain first aid and community CPR certifications.
Transport Deputy supervises inmates from diverse backgrounds and groups. They must be able to think and act quickly in medical, fire and other emergency situations; learn, understand and interpret laws and regulations as they relate directly to the detention function; communicate effectively in the English language both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the course of work; and learn, demonstrate and apply various self-defense techniques. This position must be able to pass an extensive background check and a drug test (and will be subject to random drug testing.)
