Christian County Human Resources is accepting applications for a full-time Field Appraiser in the Assessor’s Office. The Field Appraiser will have a variety of duties including but not limited to: Reading Aerial Maps, Searching County for New Construction using permits, Reviewing property for Additions and inspect for physical condition, Measuring, calculating and sketching dimensions of all structures on each parcel; Determining class of structures based on materials and location; Photographing every structure located on every parcel; Documenting construction material including: Foundation, Ext walls, Roof Type/Material, Floor Coverings, Interior finish, Electricity, Plumbing, Type of Heating & Air, Room count; will be responsible for Mileage Log, gas receipts and reporting vehicle maintenance; Reviewing Cell Towers & Bill Boards in the County; Creating structures and download pictures to the Appraisal system; Meeting with Tax Payers about Locked Gate letters to review property; Continuous review of approximately 40,000 parcels for updates; Attending Appraisal and continuing Education classes; will have interaction with Tax Payers; must research and study data according to Real Estates Markets and keep up with current construction costs.
Education / Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
- Appraisal Experience or Construction Knowledge preferred
Field Appraisers must have a good driving record, be courteous, self-motivated, detail oriented, and communicate well with others. This position must be able to pass a criminal background check, a drug test (and will be subject to random drug testing).
